Unfornately we here at Kennebug Boutique have had to raise a lot of our prices on our sterling silver jewelry due to the dramatic rise in the price of sterilng silver. As of February 2010 the cost of pure silver was 30.00 an ounce. Just a few short years ago it was under 10.00 an ounce! Just back in July 2010 it was at 18.00 an ounce!! We have tried to keep the prices unchanged but its just impossible with this much of a price jump.
Sterling silver jewelry is an heirloom piece. With proper clean and care it can be handed down generation to generation or added to when new life events take place. I have a pair of sterling silver earrings my grandmother gave to me that my grandfather had given her on their first valentines day. They are just beautiful and so special to me. So hopefully the higher price of sterling silver will not scare you away from investing in these great heirloom pieces and of course if the prices go down we will lower our prices as well.
